Office Manager - Onsite

Light Sail VR is looking for an office manager to join our immersive content studio. Candidate will organize and maintain all production and post production equipment, handle rentals and equipment checkout for productions, and help design and implement improvements to daily office life, leading initiatives for healthy eating, office décor, and best practices for a comfortable and positive working environment.

This is an on-site position – candidates must be available locally in Los Angeles, California to come to the office daily in Woodland Hills.

What will you do?
  • Catalog and organize all equipment
  • Maintain and repair/replace equipment that becomes damaged or unusable
  • Coordinate with production and keep track of all equipment leaving and returning to the studio
  • Purchase and stock craft services and meal options for the team
  • Office duties such as open and closing, mail, receiving packages

Post Producer - Immersive

Light Sail VR is always interested in meeting new experienced post producers to join our team on a contractual basis, and help us craft a wide variety of digital, commercial and immersive content.

  • Position can be fully remote or hybrid.
  • Freelance/short term contract positions (1-6 months) that can potentially lead to full time employment.
  • Applicants must be available to work on PST hours, as our HQ is located in Woodland Hills (Los Angeles).
  • Our focus is 360 and 180 Video projects, but we also produce 2D content and game-engine interactive projects, which you can be a part of.

Responsibilities
  • Takes ownership in managing project timelines, all post artist personnel (editor, motion graphics, color, finishing, sound mix, vfx, etc.), and project conflicts that arise during the post production process.
  • Understands the details and processes in a full post production studio, from ingest and editorial to online and finishing.
  • Oversees day-to-day post production tasks, ensuring active projects and operations are running smoothly, and provides regular updates on project timelines.
  • Track project resource burn and highlight when projects risk going over budget.
  • Finds the best solution to changing scope and deliveries by understanding how to quickly pivot to a new direction.
  • Enforce guidelines and parameters for the post production artists throughout the life of each project.
  • Ensure that the artistic and creative integrity of the project is executed properly according to client needs and Creative Director recommendations.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications
  • 3+ years in a post production role.
  • Has post-produced multiple 360 video and/or 180 VR projects previously.
  • Deep knowledge of a full post production process including editorial, graphics and finishing.
  • Passion for spearheading and continually optimizing a technical workflow.
  • Has a commitment to the highest level of quality in the experiences you post-produce with us.
  • Excellent time management skills and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of video production, video specs, camera specs and video compression.
  • Experience using post production applications (Asana, Resolve, Mistika, Adobe Products, etc.).
  • Has a network of post-production resources and personnel within their network to draw from as needed to augment company resources already in place.

Editors - DaVinci Resolve

We’re looking for editors experienced in cutting in DaVinci Resolve.

  • We will train experienced candidates in VR specific workflows.
  • Fully remote, you will dial into our office computers from your home system.
  • Looking for both Editor and Assistant Editor positions.

Node Based Compositor

  • We’re looking for a full time freelance junior to mid level compositor to do VR (360 video) stitching. We will be working exclusively in Fusion, but Nuke artists are welcome to apply.
  • The position is remote, and the artist would be logged in to a studio machine - all required software, render farm, etc will be provided. The project will run until the end of December.
  • The ideal candidate will have a good internet connection (over 10 mbps), experience with node-based compositing, creating clean plates, doing virtual reality (360 video) stitching, and know how to use/animate a grid warp.
  • Rate is $20-$40/hr depending on skill level and experience.

LSVR Intern

  • Light Sail is seeking motivated interns who are interested in learning more about the Immersive Media space including, but not limited to: identifying, developing and pitching a salable 360/180 idea, the characteristics of 360/180 content production, the basics of post-production including editing and stitching, game engine development (Unity and UnReal), and/or virtual production.
  • This is a three month, unpaid, learning internship (you won’t be getting coffee or stocking the fridge, we actually want you to learn things), where interns are tasked with assisting in company projects, as well as also working on their own semester long project that can be used as a reel piece after the internship.
  • Can be remote, but in-office time is preferred.
  • Interns must have their own personal computer, and it is recommended that interns have access to their own VR headset.
  • Interns must currently be enrolled in classes with a school or university.
  • Interns must be at least 18 years of age.
